Thoughts and ideas on how to build tools, automate workflows and speed-up the workplace.
The September release is here and it comes with a number of crowd-pleasing, community-driven changes that will improve the app building and access experience: Retain user & table data when overriding applications We’ve been asked time and time again for the ability to update an application without impacting the user or data tables. From today, you can import applications, while retaining these artifacts. User columns now available (and updates to the user table) The user table as you know today will still exist, but in a read-only format.

The August release has landed and we’re excited to launch some major improvements to the current Budibase experience: Simple and secure filtering with Views 2.0 Views in Budibase are a simple way to filter data. They’re incredibly popular so we decided to spend August improving their performance and design. The new Views now support the new editable Grid - significantly improve the design and overall editing experience. Additionally, there’s a new way to create Views - Simply filter your table, click Create View, give it name, and that’s it - Budibase will create a new View with your filtered data.

Grid interface Currently in Beta Manage your data as easily as a spreadsheet — add new columns and rows, filter, sort, and inline-edit with just a few clicks. The power of a database and the usability of a spreadsheet are an exciting combination that will provide productivity gains for all users. The new Grid interface is currently in beta. It currently only works with the internal database and Datasource Plus connections (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Google Sheets, and others).

Since the launch of our platform, we have always aimed to make our pricing model as simple as possible and perfectly tailored to your needs. On the 2nd May 2023, we are taking a giant leap towards that goal by introducing our new pricing. Goodbye day passes Day passes were introduced to provide a granular approach to pricing that closely aligned with usage. However, after receiving feedback from users and customers, we have found that this model is confusing and difficult to predict.

As Budibase continues to grow in users and usage we decided to dedicate February to improving the scalability and usability of Budibase. Undo/Redo A small but mighty feature, Undo/Redo has been on our backlog since day 1. With the February release, I’m pleased to announce users can undo/redo actions with the click of a button or using keyboard shortcuts. To undo an action, simply press Ctrl + Z / ⌘ + Z.
